Dry Eye Disease

Our eye doctors at North Toronto Medical Optometry and Vision care believe that the importance of effectively diagnosing and managing dry eye disease (DED) cannot be overstated. We have come to understand that dry eye and ocular surface diseases are chronic and progressive in nature, and that early detection and initiation of treatment is essential for prevention of further advancement. Ocular surface disease, now being viewed by many eye care practitioners, is being seen like glaucoma. Therefore, missing the diagnosis can lead to serious, long-term consequences.

At North Toronto Medical Optometry and Vision Care, our proactive eye doctors take the time to educate our patients on the chronic nature of dry eye disease and the importance of compliance with doctor’s recommendations for successful management of the disease. We tailor our dry eye treatments for each patient based on guidelines set by the DEWS II report.
